Animated Emojis & Expressions | Call of Guardians

A complete set of animated chat emojis designed for the MOBA game, "Call of Guardians" (Signal Studios).

The Challenge: The client provided 3D character models and needed them translated into high-readability 2D emojis for the in-game chat system. The goal was to capture specific emotions (Taunt, GG, Rage, Celebrate) while maintaining the 3D character's likeness in a stylized 2D format.

Scope of Work:

Paintovers: Tracing and stylizing 3D renders in Photoshop to create clean 2D assets.

Expression Design: Creating extreme keyframes for maximum readability at small mobile sizes.

Animation: Rigging and animating in Spine 2D for fluid loops.

Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Spine 2D.
